AN AFRICAN VIEW
What happens on such evenings is that if it is raining in the East and the whole sky is covered with a pitch dark blanket of cloud, the sun sinking in the West lights up the Eastern View as if a giant red torch was aimed at this view. With rain pouring on the valley, a rainbow over the Eastern half, it is a view to behold.
And I think to myself --------------
I am the luckiest person alive to hold this view.
Surely heaven must look something like this.
In this moment I send you loving kindness for 2006 and all the love and fun you wish.
Hoping for less violence, less natural disasters and bigger and better opportunities for all our children.
As I sit here this evening, the African summer rains all around me, a most stunning view has just appeared. The angle of my house is such that the compass East and compass West stare at each other with no buildings to block their line of view. The whole of my Eastern view is a hill and the horizon beyond.
It is so silent - all you can hear is the rain. I am speechless with only tears in my eyes. It alsts about 15-20 minutes.
