MPUMALANGA ECONOMIC GROWTH AGENCY (MEGA) - SOUTH AFRICA
The Mpumalanga Permanent Trade Exhibition was formally launched by the Mpumalanga MEC for Economic Development and Planning, Mr. C.N.M. Padayachee on the 27th of September 2007 at MEGA’s offices in Johannesburg.
The launch was conducted by the MEC in the presence of a large number of guest’s emanating from the diplomatic core, business and industry associations and members of the business community.
In his address MEC Padayachee said, “the establishment of this Permanent Trade Exhibition is a very bold and visionary step taken by MEGA. This Permanent Exhibition will definitely showcase all of what is available from the Province to the international business community. This presents yet another milestone and platform for our entrepreneurs to access the foreign lucrative markets which was previously not easily accessible to us.”
Addressing representatives from some 30 embassies that included Ambassadors from Malaysia; Vietnam; Serbia Montenegro; Madagascar; Uganda; Ghana; Belarus; Nigeria; Mauritius and Bulgaria.
MEC Padayachee added, “in our quest to fight poverty and joblessness, this Permanent Trade Exhibition Centre would be used as a ladder to reach what to many aspirant and emerging exporters was a pipedream to reach international markets. The Trade Exhibition will be the link between the international markets and Mpumalanga businesses by exposing some of the rich resource and talent that this Province is endowed with.”
The Exhibition showcases products manufactured, processed, mined, grown and cultivated as well as services in the tourism sector the emanate from the Mpumalanga Province.
