The theme for the evening focused on “MAKING E-MAIL WORK FOR YOUR BUSINESS” and endeavored to educate and provide some 'inside' secrets to this essential service.
As Technology increases tools are created to assist us to work faster and smarter, accomplishing more in a day than what has ever been possible. E-mail, short for electronic mail, is one such tool, with many business applications and two important benefits: speed and cost effectiveness.
E-mail is almost instant and can reach just about anyone, anywhere in the world. It is affordable, never costing more than a local phone call, even if the e-mail is sent to multiple recipients. Documents can be sent instantaneously to a location on the other side of the planet, or to the person in the office down the passage.
Businesses can use e-mail to keep in touch with employees and clients, communicate with suppliers and business partners. It can be used to create, maintain and build relationships, internally and externally.
As with all technology, there are some ‘tricks’ to learn and some rules to observe. E-mail can be used effectively or illegally, if the practice of spamming is employed!
What is spamming?
Our guest speaker was Mr. Kim NIELSEN, Technology Specialist, Enterprise and Partner Group, Microsoft South Africa.

I hope this email finds you in good spirits.
Once again Peter, well done and thank you for your never ending efforts for our beloved Mama Africa continent.
Just feedback for you, that the FDA networking functions offer more value than any of the other functions I normally attend. After meeting so many people at the FDA function on the 25th Jan.

thanks for the wonderful networking session, hled on tuesday.
i have read your 'minutes' hereunder and realise that you did not mention the fact that two SMMEs have won a free partner subscription.
being one of the winners i thought i should point this oversight to you unless of course its not your network policy to make such announcements.
as a 'new recruit' i am not familiar with your network's procedures/incentives or recognitions bestowed on partners,
i would appreiciate your kind explanation as to what this prize means.
i await your response
kind regards

Thank you for your invitation to the above function.
I abused your hospitality by bringing along 3 of my sales guys and it was a real moral booster when they realized the possibilities and opportunities that this network can bring.
We look forward to developing our relationship with the FDA and our joint endeavors to bring sustained prosperity to Africa and her people.
