ATELIERS SANS FRONTIERES (ASF)
"WORKSHOPS WITHOUT BORDERS"
“Building our future by helping other build their own”

Ateliers sans Frontičres, is a French Non Government Organization, whose aim is to help underprivileged youth and adults get back to work through the collection and refurbishing of computers and sport equipment. This refurbished equipment is destined to equip international solidarity projects at a very low cost in developing countries.

ASF in France

Located in the suburb of Paris, our workshop hires about 50 persons every year, especially those far from the labour market with big social difficulties. Each worker benefits from an individualized follow up (social and educational) to help them re-integrate back into society and the job market. They receive a salary and skills training during their contract and their job is to collect and refurbish sport equipments and computers (PII or PIII) in order to sell them at a very low price to social projects in developing countries.

Our will at term is to spread our initiatives in other developing countries (like in South Africa) by allocating in a balanced and coherent way our values and the solidarity aspect of our approach.

ASF in South Africa

Our objectives are the following:
1. To identify and support local projects:
ASF RSA meets local NPOs involved in social development, identify with them their needs and provide them IT or sport equipments to develop their projects. ASF RSA follows and controls regularly the projects in order to build sustainability

2. To implement a workshop:
The aim is to re-integrate people with difficulties (unskilled youth, unemployed or disabled people …) through work, by collecting, refurbishing and delivering IT equipments. In partnership with local organisations, people working in this workshop will benefit from social and professional assistance.

3. Worksite realisation:
ASF RSA organizes local solidarity construction sites (to build sport facilities or multimedia centres for example) together with the local people. This is the local population who build its own facilities. The aim is to encourage solidarity and responsibility in the townships. The role of ASF RSA is to provide technical councils and quality equipments. ASF RSA can also help for fundraising.

Ateliers Sans Frontičres in a few figures:
• Over 150 underprivileged persons hired to this day – over 70% of positive outcomes
• Over 200 underprivileged youth involved in more than 15 international construction projects.
• Tens of sport and educational complexes equipped in more than 20 countries (France, Senegal, Kosovo, India, Romania…) and 3 branches in Morocco, Algeria and South Africa.
