Africa As You Have Never Seen It!

A FIRST OF ITS KIND television series that promises to be show THE BEST AFRICAN CITIES HAS TO OFFER the continent and the world. It will be a twenty-six part series, 24 minutes each, that will reveal the vibrant urbane Africa we know yet so few people ever get to see.

Produced by Facets, a pan-African media and entertainment company, the project has been in development for more than two years and promises to be a world-class production.

It already has guaranteed airtime on the South African Broadcasting Corporation and will be given free to air to many African broadcasters so that more people across Africa get to see the best the continent has to offer in terms of nightlife, fashion, décor, restaurants, music, natural beauty and characters. Snapshots will also be distributed internationally and contribute to countering the stereotypical doom and gloom coverage we are continuously up against.

The Concept
Snapshots is a lifestyle/travel/reality magazine programme that will take you to Africa’s major cities through the eyes of three interesting characters:
A PHOTOGRAPHER always in search of the best snapshots
A TRAVELLER who comes across as a relaxed, friendly, adaptable, open minded, well travelled and informed funky individual
A LOCAL from each city that is the most hip, connected, informed and talented

In the process of their meeting and being taken for a three day long weekend get away will fascinate any viewer in Africa or around the world interested in the continent and its rich and diverse music, fashion, décor and travel.

The reality element is that the traveller and the photographer have no idea who they are about to meet and what is in store for them. This will allow it to be as natural as possible and not a feeling of being staged. To stay true to our title one of our photographer will always be in search of the best picture. He will naturally interact with our traveller as they see different things on their journey.

The use of graphics gives us an option to give viewers basic information about the various spaces that we will be exploring.

On our journey we also intend to document these cities and create one of the best data-bases on the Internet to highlight the sights and sounds for any traveler.

A coffee table book that highlights the best of each city.

Our Appeal
We are looking for:
1. Interesting locals that would be ideal to show our travelers around their city and assist us in showing the world the best Africa has to offer.
2. Sponsors who are passionate and committed to changing the perceptions of Africa to themselves and the world.
3. Endorsements that will open the doors to ensuring this is an African product that will be of international standard while staying true to its African agenda.
4. Anyone with suggestions of the most funky and well traveled African television presenter and photographer.
5. Anyone with suggestions on each cities most celebrated musicians.
6. Anyone with suggestions as to what it is their city has to offer that highlights its uniqueness and world-class experience.
7. Anyone with suggestions as to what our next thirteen countries should be and why?
