WHO ARE YOU?
"Life Skills with Attitude"

Life Skills with Attitude
This course has been run in a number of
organisations and educational institutions with
excellent results. 'Who Are You' has also been
selected by CIDA University as their official Life
Skills programme. The authors are experienced
educational media developers who have
developed life-skills courses used by the National
Department of Education in South Africa. The
course is interesting, rewarding, engaging and,
most of all, FUN.
We are also able to train facilitators and develop
programmes for tertiary educators, organisations
employing school leavers and employees who
have never satisfactorily answered or been asked
this question.
Why ‘who am I?’ is such an important question?
Who should attend?
How does the process work?
How long does the process take?
'Who are You' is a cutting edge Life Skills course that enables participants to answer
this vital question with power and integrity. It also provides useful tools to enable
participants to take up roles when they need to be flexible and creative. These are vital
skills for entrepreneurs and for organisations who require multi-skilled people able to
fill many different roles.
The course consists of a
workbook and facilitated components that include
some homework assignments. It simplifies and
makes accessible recent advances in psychology,
self-development, learning theory, business
thinking, neuroscience and physiology.
Participants can get a useful appreciation of how
they can influence their own thoughts, feelings,
behaviour and well-being. It also uses the wisdom
of African leaders and intellectuals to provide them
with role models they can strongly identify with.
By exploring the question ‘who am I’, we
become aware of the limiting ways in
which we often see ourselves
? If we see ourselves in limiting ways, we
set ourselves up for a limited life
experience
? We discover that what we say about
ourselves is usually what other people
have said to us – how do they know?
? If we don’t know who we are, it‘s very
difficult to know what makes us happy
and fulfilled
? When we see ourselves in narrow,
limiting ways, we put our talents and
potential in ‘jail’, making it very difficult
to act on our hopes and dreams
? We discover that we have the power
over the way we think, speak and the
stories we tell about ourselves……and
through this, that we can consciously
choose that which empowers us
? When we have a strong sense of self,
we become better at making choices
that benefit us
? If we know who we truly are, we
become more flexible - it’s easier to see
ourselves in new, empowering roles
? It helps us to take charge of our lives…
… which not only benefits us, but
everybody around us
The course is designed for those with a Grade 12 literacy level.
The course is intended to expose participants to key life skills enabling them to lift their
own performance and experience of the world to a different dimension.
The process is a combination of facilitated sessions
and homework assignments and exercises which participants need to complete in their
own time. Assignments are designed to be enjoyable and engaging and to lead
participants into experiences of insight and self-discovery.
The course is available in 2 flavours as follows:
* A 5 day, focussed residential programme
* An in-company process in which each participant has to engage for 2 hours per
week plus homework exercises of 3 hours per
week.
