UPCOMING EVENTS

INVITATION - CUTS-CITEE
I have been invited to attend and 'partly' chair a CUTS-CITEE (Centre for International Trade, Economics & Environment) launch meeting of the project: Linkages between Trade, Development & Poverty Reduction. This inaugural event, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Netherlands and Department for International Development, United Kingdom, will be held this weekend in Jaipur, India.

I will be leaving for India on Thursday and will be back in South Africa on Monday morning.

All my cost associated with this trip to India is paid for by CUTS-CITEE - I would like to express my sincere gratitude towards CUTS-CITEE for this gesture and for having confidence in my ability to chair and contribute to this important event.

Detail on this initiative, that will develop linkages between civil society; governments and business, will be made available on my return - for more detail please see the invitation:
http://www.foundation-development-africa.org/fda_endorsements/cuts_citee_2005.htm

I have also launched a new website promoting my "chairing" ability - if you are planning a conference and in need of a chairperson please visit my personal website:

FDA - "ACCESS TO FINANCE" FUNCTION FEEDBACK
We have published the presentation, made by Mr.Cas COOVADIA, Managing Director Banking Association, held here in Johannesburg last week. As promised we recorded the proceedings, thanks to GEARHOUSE SOUTH AFRICA, http://www.fdapartners.net/partners/gearhouse.htm transcribed same to paper, thanks to Monique TERRAZAS http://www.fdapartners.net/partners/monique_metcalfe.htm , launched it on our website, thanks to HITECH MARKETING http://www.fdapartners.net/partners/hitech_marketing.htm and then I also had a finger in the pie!

You are welcome to access this important presentation, peruse and comment - visit:

A TRIBUTE TO OUR WOMEN
Our next FDA FORMAL NETWORKING FUNCTION will pay tribute to our women - The topic will feature "THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN A CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT" and will endeavor to address the important role of women in business, present case studies where our women have attributed to the 'success' of companies and give advice on how you could participate.

Our men folk are also invited to this event!

I have postponed the date - originally planned for 12 April 2005 - and will release a new date within the next few days!

We have had a good response to this function and would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to participate or contribute to this event. I do believe our women are worthy of the opportunity to present themselves to Africa and the world.

If you could add value to this event - please make contact:
peter@isupportafrica.com

The following individuals have indicated willingness to contribute and participate:

Addi LANG (Return to Roots Foundation)
Tina THOMSON (Businesswomen's Association)
