You may be well aware of the very important G8 meeting taking place at the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland from 06-08 July 2005. The outcome of these deliberations may impact profoundly on Africa's sustainable development!
In a letter to Prime Minister Tony BLAIR, in his capacity as President of the G8 for 2005, I pleaded for the deliberation to insist, no matter what the outcome, on a process of participation for ALL the people in Africa.
As with my plea, for a process of participation, to the Commission for Africa workshops that took place in 2004, I reiterated: "Unless we (all the people in Africa) are allowed to participate and take hands in Africa's development - we will not succeed!"
I also reminded the Prime Minister of the recommendations made by the Commission for Africa:

Investing in People
There is no substitute for the large increase in resources that are required to reverse years of chronic under-investment in education, health and social protection. Effective use of these large new resource flows will require comprehensive plans for delivery and for monitoring results. To this end, African governments must continue to strengthen governance and ensure the participation of ordinary people and local communities in decisions on development. For its part, the international community must deliver what it has promised. Both African governments and international donors must ensure that opportunities are available to all.

COMMENTS RE: NEPAD BUSINESS FOUNDATION
My recent email on the EXPLOITATION OF NEPAD resulted in some very interesting comments and reactions from around the globe.
You may recall - I wrote:
Membership to the NEPAD BUSINESS FOUNDATION amounts to ZAR10,000.00 (around US$1500.00) for six months!
Once again Africa business is presented with another exclusive business club, endorsed by the NEPAD Secretariat, offering - only for those who can afford the excessive membership - access to political and official decision makers in Africa and constant communication with the (NEPAD) Secretariat.
Once again are the grassroots entrepreneurs and the people of Africa are excluded from participating in Africa's development, for not being able to afford the 6-monthly fee of $1500 to have access to "political and official decision makers" and/or "constant communication with the (NEPAD) Secretariat".
The NEPAD initiative belongs to ALL of Africa - not just a select few!
ALL of Africa must take hands and become united in her efforts to implement this important AFRICAN RENEWAL PROGRAMME.
I had just received word that when searching www.google.com for "nepad business foundation" our FDA website or the section dealing with the NEPAD BUSINESS FOUNDATION is ranked or rated number one in the world - of greater interest is the fact that the 'FDA NEWSLETTER SECTION' of our FDA website, featuring this email, is ranked or rated number two - over the last week this page received some 1200 hits.
