International events, more and more hosted in Africa, provide much needed infrastructure that, if designed and constructed with foresight, will benefit our people for generations to come. The greatest 'gift' any government could ever leave its people is infrastructure - this is one asset that benefits all.
A number of major international sporting events to take place in Africa have been secured. The 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer comes to mind. The vast sums of money associated with this event almost make the G8 budget insignificant. Infrastructure development; marketing techniques; communications; transport logistics; catering; accommodation; tourism; security arrangements; health care; printing; the list is almost endless.
South Africa has less than five years to prepare for one of the biggest sporting events ever - and the eyes of the world will be focused on her 'delivery'!
In South Africa, CHAMSA (Chambers of Commerce and Industry South Africa) in association with constituent members - AHI, FABCOS, NAFCOC and SACOB (all major business chamber representatives) has launched an initiative entitled - CHAMSA 2010 - to allow for 'optimising the benefits and impact for ALL stakeholders" with regard the 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer.
Well done CHAMSA!
The Foundation for the Development of Africa has endorsed this initiative, awarded the project SPECIAL PROJECT SERVING AFRICA status and has offered to host; market; optimize and maintain a website dedicated to this initiative - see:
We would like to express our gratitude to Gary TERRAZAS from HIGHTECH MARKETING (http://www.fdapartners.net/partners/hitech_marketing.htm) for his contribution towards this very important initiative.
This event, also endorsed by the Foundation for the Development of Africa, offers an opportunity to interact with some of the top names in the sport event arena - these names include:
Ismael BHAMJEE, Executive Member, FIFA
The four central events of the conference include:

For Africa to succeed in her efforts to develop and prosper ALL of Africa need to take hands. International events seldom leave a nation wanting - even if it is just a bond that is created - let us make the most of these events!
