A BRIGHT FUTURE AWAITS AFRICA
UPCOMING EVENTS SERVING AFRICA
FOR THE RECORD

A BRIGHT FUTURE AWAITS AFRICA
Never before has so much been done by so many to ensure a brighter future for Africa's development.

The proactive stance of South African President Mbeki towards eradicating corruption, the tabling of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Report for Ghana and Rwanda, the pending G-8 Summit, the continued efforts of the Foundation for the Development of Africa, the NEPAD vision, the appointment of Ms. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka as Deputy President in South Africa - a sure plus for women!

The list continues...

My friend and champion Professor Carl NOFFKE from the USA-SA Business Spotlight "EXCLUSIVE" writes:

"Never before in Africa's history has a more timely convergence of positive events and policy decisions contributed to recent landmarks aimed at changing the continent's political, social and economic landscape for ever."

"The United States and the European Union (EU) issued a promising joint declaration on June 20. The declaration reiterated their commitment to accelerate efforts "in support of democratic African nations". Both the US and the EU "acknowledged African ownership of present and future development on the African continent".

I have published Carl's article on our website - see: http://www.foundation-development-africa.org/africa_development/other_africa_issues/africa_general/positive_decisions_shaping_africa.htm

ENDORSED BY THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA
01-02 August, Johannesburg, South Africa (Caesar Arena) A New Visions Africa EVENT - The Social Investment Expo 2005
Exposure for Projects/Organizations - Networking Opportunities - Meet the Donors both local and International - Corporate Social Investment practitioners will be encouraged to network and collaborate on existing and future strategies and projects in order to pool the resources in a manner that will facilitate maximum impact. Such resources are not limited to funding. Perhaps even more critical is the buy-in and commitment of individual members of organizations to make a difference; to be prepared and be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

FOR THE RECORD
There is no doubt that my email on the "ELITE CLUBS" has caused somewhat of a 'stir' - Please note:

The FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA has offered the expertise and know-how of the FDA and the I SUPPORT AFRICA campaign to the NEPAD Business Group (Continental), the NEPAD Business Group (South Africa), the ABR (African Business Roundtable) and the NEPAD BUSINESS FOUNDATION, in an effort to expedite this NEPAD/BUSINESS liaison initiative.

Our constructive criticism of these "processes" need not be seen as a constraint in Africa's development - we are pleading for a "process" that will allow inclusive participation of ALL our people.

Hi.
I am in Baltimore at the moment at the US-African Summit.
I was a guest speaker at the handcraft workshop for Artisans.
Last night at the State Banquet, Paul Wolfowitz was the guest of honour, and was an impressive speaker. He did mention Nepad, and suggested that everyone should support their efforts.... not sure what those efforts are !!!
It seems as if there was a lot goodwill shown here, and an avowance of support for Aid to Africa in all forms.
