BRANDING YOUR BUSINESS
TRADE MISSIONS
TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE

BRANDING YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS
Over the last few weeks I had the privilege of interacting with a large number of business executives. Exchanging business cards is normally the first step and I often use this 'card exchange' as a useful 'icebreaker'. I was disturbed at the number of executives who could not produce a card, not even a temporary card printed at the office.

"A brand is the collective perceptions of those who matter. Every touch-point is an opportunity to enhance or denigrate your brand".

Whilst doing research for the Media Relations and Corporate Branding conference I will be chairing next week, I stumbled across this profound introduction made at the AMA American Management Association conference on 'Branding Strategies and Tactics' by Conference Chairman Scott Davis, Managing Partner of Prophet:

Branding yourself, your organisation and/or your product must be considered at 'every touch-point' you encounter. Also remembering that your brand moves on with whomever you have interacted with.

We should never loose sight of the fact that Africa is our biggest brand!

On 28-29 September in Sandton, South Africa, at the Hilton Sandton, AMC International will be presenting a Media Relations and Corporate Branding conference, chaired by yours truly. This conference will address a host of issues presented by experts and professionals in this field.

YOUR TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE
Within the framework of the Triple Bottom Line (Economics; Environment and Social), emerging internationally, the FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA (FDA) has now opted to assist business by partnering with select corporates/SME/organisations that lack or have failed to recognise or capitalize on their Corporate Social Investment Programme.

As a 'not-for-profit' organisation the FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA (FDA) is very well positioned to partner with business and represent these CSI (Corporate Social Investment) or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) efforts in a coordinated programme.

Please make contact should you wish to discuss this interesting FDA initiative:

For Africa to succeed in her efforts to develop and prosper ALL of Africa need to take hands.

The Foundation for the Development of Africa is in need of your support - our efforts are subjected to the same expenses/cost associated with any other business. We need to raise funds which will enable the FDA to attend two crucial international events that will have a profound impact on Africa's development.

Please - we need you to support our efforts - see:

Good day Mr Metcalfe,
Thank you for the feedback. It is true that branding decides who will be bringing you business tomorrow, so every encounter that one makes with the outside world one has to take advantage of it.
