THE FUTURE OF WOMEN LEADERSHIP
Africa's new face for leadership

South Africa president, Mr. Thabo MBEKI, made a statement: "No Government in South Africa could ever claim to represent the will of the people if it failed to address the central task of the emancipation of women in all its elements..."

How true! The challenge for Africa is to identify and capacitate our women for leadership in business and government. Women must therefore be given the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills and leadership expertise for them to be positioned and equipped to compete globally.

We then also have to acknowledge and recognise our women achievers who can impart valuable information to potential women leaders.

Women have a pivotal role in the growing of our economy.

On 11 and 12 April 2005, in Pretoria, South Africa at the CSIR International Convention Centre, IMS (Intelligent Management Strategies), will be hosting a conference focused on the Future of Women Leadership - Africa's New Face for Leadership.

Yours truly, Peter METCALFE, was asked to chair this important event, featuring a list of eminent women achievers from all walks of life - this list includes:
Lindiwe Hendricks, Deputy Minister, The Department of Trade and Industry

CUTS INTERNATIONAL (CUTS - CONSUMER UNITY AND TRUST SOCIETY)
You may recall I made mention of the recent CUTS-CITEE (Centre for International Trade, Economics & Environment) launch meeting of the project: Linkages between Trade, Development & Poverty Reduction. This event, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Netherlands and Department for International Development, United Kingdom, was held in Jaipur, India.

I have now launched detail from this event on our website and have included CUTS INTERNATIONAL on the list of organisations serving Africa - such as Commissions for Africa; OECD; NEPAD and others - CUTS INTERNATIONAL is one organisation willing to "Walk the Talk" and willing to allow for a process of participation - please see:
