At the ArabellaSheraton I witnessed service excellence beyond the call of duty. Every member of the staff, from the General Manager, Grant RUDDIMAN, the housekeeping staff, the front desk personnel, all illustrated a willingness to ensure that every guest received the best attention. This so reminded me of good corporate governance (to lead by example) - well done Mr. RUDDIMAN, you, your staff and your hotel is an asset to Cape Town, South Africa and therefore Africa.
It was very evident that the staff, working at the ArabellaSheraton, accepted service excellence as a way of life. I have so often stated that when you care FOR something, it becomes a way of life, when you care ABOUT something - it's a 9-5 job.
Each and every one of us can contribute to the well being and a favorable investment climate of this continent by providing 'service excellence' and also .. by demanding 'service excellence' - only if we deliver.
The ICF (The Investment Climate Facility for Africa) is a new private-public partnership, focused on improving the continent's investment climate. Their mission is to make Africa an even better place to do business, by removing obstacles to domestic and foreign investment and by promoting Africa as an attractive investment destination.
The initiative is an independent trust with strong African representation on the Board of Trustees. It provides a mechanism through which the private sector, the G8 countries, other donors and African governments and institutions can support Africa's vision for sustainable growth and development.
The Foundation for the Development of Africa supports this initiative.
