The all too familiar signs of congested traffic, numerous emails, ringing phones and the rate at which ones diary fills up rapidly with new appointments, remind us that things are back to normal.
Over the last few days (weeks) we have been inundated with reviews and flashbacks of the year that was and a year that delivered tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes and storms leading to floods causing death, havoc and devastation, not to mention the political uncertainty and lack of service delivery.
I seldom afford myself the opportunity of "looking back" unless I am willing to learn from the past - what has happened is done - there is nothing one can do to change the past. There is little one can do about the future unless you are willing to act on what you have available to you . and that is the present. Right now - that is all we have available to us and we need to make the best of it.
I spent most of this 'quiet' period making some drastic user-friendly improvements to our websites and also prepared the FDA for a number of objectives and projects we will be tackling this year - somehow I do believe this to be the year we have all been waiting for.
