BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE AFRICA

RegenAfrica, the United Kingdom's first-ever regeneration and development initiative targeting key political and business leaders and decision makers across Africa and Europe, has invited me to deliver the keynote address and chair a few workshops/sessions at the 2006 RegenAfrica International Conference with the theme "Financing Local Government for Regeneration and Development"

The conference will take place from Monday 27 November 2006 to Friday 01 December 2006, at the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, UAE (United Arab Emirates)

This exciting five-day event will facilitate collaboration between governments, Africa's regional and international development partners, businesses and other stakeholders. The event will also provide those present with practical case studies of what can be done towards regeneration with the right synergy and recognize efforts delivering major regeneration initiatives. Unparalleled opportunities will be available to foster more rapid progress in African countries by tackling the economic and political leadership issues pertinent to Africa in the 21st Century.

The principal programme, "Financing Local Government for Regeneration and Development", will address sub-themes such as:
* Local Government and Regeneration,
* Building Sustainable Local Infrastructures
* Funding Regeneration including Investment Opportunities

Delegates will examine the main issues and challenges facing the development of housing; infrastructure and super-structures throughout Africa, providing an ideal platform for negotiating funding for several projects of this nature

I would love to attend this conference, especially post Nairobi which is tackling relevant issues re Global Warming.
