AFRICA DAY

On numerous occasions (Yesterday - Africa Day) I was confronted with the question "How are you celebrating Africa Day?"

To me every day is Africa's Day.

I am pleased that so much emphasis was placed on Africa and her well-being and trust that this enthusiasm will prevail for time to come. However I once again need to remind World Leaders to start 'walking the talk'. For seven years the FDA - Foundation for the Development of Africa has been serving Africa diligently and has contributed to so many talk-shops initiated by numerous international organisations; government led programmes and even pop-idol initiatives.

A fraction of what was intended has reached its objective - I have yet to see any sustainable good emerging from all these talk-shops and trust that the newly formed African Monitor will address this issue - unless this initiative intends to be another talk-shop.
