WALK THE TALK.... PLEASE!!

The FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA proudly presents you with the following information that may add value to Africa's development. Please direct any correspondence to: info@isupportafrica.com

WALK THE TALK.... PLEASE!!

Every year we plead with the WEF (World Economic Forum); The Commission for Africa; The G8; The 'NEPAD' and a host of other institutions and development initiators to please 'continue talking' but also ... WALK THE TALK!

On the 25th of JULY, 2006, I warned, in an email with the heading, FDA - AFRICA .... ALL ON HER OWN, that: "... first world powers' will drop Africa from the development agenda at the 'drop' of a hat." .see:
http://www.foundation-development-africa.org/fda_newsletter/2006/25_july_2006.htm

Sadly, I could have used the same email following the recent WEF in Switzerland.

Just another "talk shop" - year after year, this is becoming so boring and monotonous, more so the fact that we, Africa, continue to try again and again, hoping for a miracle from the developed world. Africa is capable of providing for herself - from within - we just need to coordinate our efforts.

Therefore, AFRICA needs to WALK THE TALK!

We, all of Africa (including NEPAD), need to stand as one and seek solutions within Africa for Africa - we just need to coordinate our efforts.

It is here that the AFRICA TRADE CENTRE will deliver for ALL of Africa - not for just a select few. The AFRICA TRADE CENTRE will allow the private sector to participate in Africa's development!

The FDA PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME is available to any commercial business/organisation and/or individual willing to abide by the principles of THE AFRICA TRADE CENTRE and our FDA TRADING PARTNERS (AFRICA PARTNERS). All willing to trade throughout Africa and abide by the following principals - Good Governance; Development objectives; Democracy; Non-racialism; Non-sexism; Commitment to transformation; Equity and Redress; Common values and goals; Commitment to improvement of quality of life!

Warmest greetings Brother Peter,
It is always refreshning and stimulating to read your messages or listen to you. You are right to advocate for African solutions to African problems and, above all, in an action-oriented manner.
It is amazing the amount of plans and programmes that we have produced so far, some of which really excellent in terma of providing us with a sound framework for action.
I do agree that it is high time for us Africans, to walk the talk and understand that we have to learn to rely upon ourselves and have confidence in our own capacity which is tremendous, especially once we are serious and organised and if we act together.
Please do come back to me in order to schedule a working meeting. And keep on keeping on.
Best regards.

Dear Peter, Thank you for the good work you are doing for Africa, am on your mailing list and I must say I enjoy every article from FDA.
Please liaise more with NEPAD Secretariat, APRM Secretariat, e-Africa Commission in South Africa in an effort for us all to consolidate these efforts. I was in SA early this month and in Addis late this month and I see that NEPAD is walking the talk through the above organs. It may be slow but if all Africans rally behind this initiative the world will respect as for once.
The Sixth APRM Forum, Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda who have been Peer Reviewed under the African Peer Review Mechanism presented progress reports on where they are with implementation of the programme of Action. All these are public documents which can be accessed.
