2007 G8 MEETING - GERMANY

Every year the World Leaders meet to discuss (for this we are grateful) world issues - including capacitating developing countries.

Every year some world crises 'interrupts' the proceedings leaving developing countries wanting! - You may recall the Middle East Crises took center stage last year.

Every year we - THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA - make the same plea to the World Leaders:

"Less Aid .. Let's Trade" and if there's any talk - "Walk the Talk"

In 2006 I wrote:

Africa is overdue its fair share of 'recognition' and 'deliverance' at these G8 Summit's and albeit the interaction with Alpha Oumar Konaré, Chairman of the African Union and Thabo Mbeki, President of South Africa, the core issues around the lack of implementation was side-tracked by these 'well-timed events' in the Middle East.

Today, 6 June 2007, the World Leaders meet in Heiligendamm, Germany to discuss various issues impacting on world affairs. This year 'global warming' and the 'environment' will take centre stage while 'aid' to Africa 'will be discussed'.

Let's trust that the G8 agenda will receive uninterrupted consideration and that fruitful conclusions will dominate the proceedings!

I reiterate what I wrote last year:

'We, all of Africa (including NEPAD), need to stand as one and seek solutions within Africa for Africa. We need to accept the fact that 'first world powers' will exclude Africa from the development agenda at the 'drop' of a hat. Africa is capable of providing for herself - from within - we just need to coordinate our efforts.'

THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA invites you to participate in our efforts to unite Africa:

Prerequisites for the success of "solutions out of Africa".
1. Eliminate the cultures of corruption and clinging to political power, war-mongering to the exclusion of everything else.
2. Racism is a nebulous term, just as is the term "democracy". Forget racism, concentrate on behavioural discrimination and behaviour modification to ensure that achieving, maintaining and enhancing the welfare of each and every community is the absolute basis of all policies of government and non-governmental bodies, instead.
3. Africa is run on the opposite of what is understood by the term "democracy". Change the non-democratic culture of chiefs, polygamy, female circumcision and, inter alia, no respect for animal- and human life to an approach of dedicated service to the community, based on sound quality-of-life improvement principles and normative values that are conducive to improving quality of human and animal existence..
4. Cultivate an appreciation for science, engineering and technology (SET), as well as management in accordance with normative principles for maximal goal achievement, willingness to see the bigger picture in terms of manufacturing (read the success stories of Korea, China and Japan) as well existing efforts to improve quality of life in countries in Africa (which is just about all of them) where their own cultures and religions have stifled growth and development.
5. Eradicate the misunderstandings in Africa about the free market system ("capitalism"), as it is sometimes referred to, although that term is just as nebulous as "democracy", that, to create wealth can only mean that it must take place in an environment of bribery and corruption, dishonesty and machiavellianism.
Before the above has taken place, you are wasting your time with solutions "out of Africa".
