AFRICA TRADE CENTRE - NOTIFICATION

At an extraordinary board meeting, held in Woodmead, Johannesburg here in South Africa, on Saturday, 03 February 2006, the board members of both the Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd (Registration Number: 2005/033212/07) and The Foundation for the Development of Africa, a Not-for-Profit Association Incorporated Under Section 21 (Registration Number: 2003/010507/08) resolved that, with immediate effect, the two boards would merge under one authority namely: Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd.

This resolution therefore provides for the following board members to the Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd:
P METCALFE (Chairman)
BN RASEROKA (Chief Executive Officer)
W DU PLESSIS (Chief Operating Officer)
A DLAMINI
T J KUBU
M MMOGOTSI (Ms)
C SEOKANE
M TERRAZAS (Ms)
M METCALFE (Ms)
G HODGE

The merge has resulted in the Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd board comprising 50% black representation; 50% white representation while women make up 30% of the board.

Representation from the rest of Africa will be, by invitation, appointed and announced later.

Furthermore this merge will deliver a number of crucial changes to the status quo of The Foundation for the Development of Africa and its website, including the 'shift' of all current commercial activities from the FDA to the Africa Trade Centre.

All FDA Trading Partners will forthwith be branded as Africa Trade Centre Partners and so will all the FDA Contacts be referred to as Africa Trade Centre Contacts.

The ever-growing data-base of PRODUCTS AND SERVICES SERVING AFRICA will forthwith be presented as an Africa Trade Centre initiative and will therefore be presented as a commercial private sector initiative.

It was felt that the FDA's association to the PRODUCTS AND SERVICES SERVING AFRICA as well as the FDA TRADING PARTNER PROGRAMME placed the emphasis on 'Aid' not 'Trade' - since we have been promoting the "Less aid - Let's Trade" slogan.

It is therefore made known that our focus will forthwith be on promoting the Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd, initially in virtual format, until we move into the new Africa Trade Centre complex currently being designed. The mandate of this Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd will be to facilitate trade throughout Africa!

The Foundation for the Development of Africa will now be incorporated as part of the Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd's corporate social investment programme and therefore continue to deliver on all the current services and networking initiatives to-date. The third leg of the Africa Trade Centre (Pty) Ltd's 'Triple Bottom Line' will be concluded through the introduction of the Africa Trade Centre Environmental Programme, to be appropriately named later.

Your participation in the Africa Trade Centre is encouraged - please contact:

My Dear Peter,
Congratulations on your well deserved appointment as Chairman of Africa Trade Centre.
We firmly believe in what you and your organization are doing for the Continent of Africa and the impressive and gigantic strides being taken under your able leadership.
This is exactly what we in Arbitration And ADR In Africa are preaching, i.e., that if we must encourage economic development and attract foreign investment into Africa.
We must be able to creat an enabling environment and one of the major components is putting up a credible and effective structure for Dispute Resolution which generally arise in business transactions. Without a transparent, rapid, non-racial, equity and cost-effective mechanism to Dispute Resolution foreign investors and even Africans would not be willing to invest in Africa, which includes trading with and within Africa.
Once again, Congratulations and keep up the good works.
We are your solid partners.
Kind Regards
Dr. C.J. Amasike, FCI.Arb.

Dear Peter,
First let me take this opportunity to congratulate you on being the Chairman of Africa Trade Centre as well as FDA.
It has been a few years since I have the privelege to meet you and do business with FDA. During those time, you have been very supportive and helpful to even put our product on your main page.
Although I now spent most of my time in Singapore and Malaysia, I hope to be back in South Africa sometime this year and personally congratulate you for your far sighted vision in creating a wonderful structure - The Africa Trade Centre - to fulfill your motto of : More Trade , Less Aid.
The Chinese Year of the Pig is just a few days away and I would like to wish you the very best of health, happiness and may your vision of more trade grow from strength to strength.
With Best Wishes

Hi Peter
Trust you are keeping well.
I see your Africa Trade Centre complex currently being designed.
My penny's worth is energy efficiency wherever possible.
Solar assisted air conditioning could be worth considering.
To best of my knowledge no systems exist in SA but many examples exist in other parts of the world.
I dare say we could find finance for a solar air-con project.

Dear Mr. Peter,
Since I had a little chat with you on my first Visit to South Africa in 2003, while attending the first World Franchise Council, Meeting held in Africa, I did not have any doubt in my mind on your dreams of African Trade Development.
Its only non-business practicals who woud doubt your direction.
When the living legend MANDELA said that a united black and white in South Africa will bring repid advancement within the African Continent, this is one of those vivid results.
From grand Zero in 2003 when we met at Johannesburg, Convention Center in South Africa, to Africa Trade Center in 2007.
Mr. Peter, I am proud of you, Africans at home and else where around the world are proud of your person and your wife whom you always describe as your engine room and power house.
May God continue to sustain you and your your dreams for African Trade.
Long live Africa Trade Center.

Hi Peter
Now you know that this excites me. This is my field of interest.
I have always felt that trade is the one thing that will get Africa's economies kick-started again.
Please see the attached confidential overview of my thinking around trade.
Hopefully we can meet soon to take this matter up over coffee.

Good day Peter
I read with interest the Africa Trade program that you are launching, and we at Wesgro would be interested if you could do a presentation/Introduction of this organisation during our forthcoming second Western African business networking forum that we are hosting on the 27 of February.(between 09h and 13h).
During the forum we have two or three speakers talking about issues relevant to doing business in Africa, and I think a presentation/introduction of your organisation would be appropriate for our event
Looking forward for your response
