The AFRICA TRADE CENTRE AND THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA proudly presents you with the following information that may add value to Africa's development.
The vision of the FDA Women Development Programme is to create a worldwide network of dynamic women who add value to Africa's development. The Foundation for the Development Africa will, under le Roux's guidance, facilitate and showcase projects initiated by women for women on its world-ranked website www.foundation-development-africa.org under the heading 'Women Development Serving Africa'.
It is further envisioned to deliver a fresh brand of enthusiasm that will inspire women to continue with their creative purpose. Dynamic testimonies will be recorded and documented while women driven projects will receive 'Special Project Serving Africa' status and showcased on the FDA website.
"Women are key to Africa's sustainable development. Recognising our women and their tireless efforts in serving Africa has been long overdue," says Peter Metcalfe, Chairman of the FDA. "Ina's appointment to drive this newly implemented 'Women Development' portfolio, within the FDA, is a step in the right direction. I have no doubt Ina will deliver not only our FDA vision for Women in Africa but will also have an opportunity to deliver on her own vision for Women in Africa"
Ina, a visionary and a pioneer for the empowerment and development of women, has a natural flair for networking with a passion to serve the community and is a lifelong learner of business, management, leadership and wellness principles. Ina's objective is to motivate and develop women to be 'Women with Purpose'.
"My dream has become a reality after many years - to be able to serve our women throughout Africa using The Foundation for the Development of Africa as a vehicle is awesome," says Ina. "We must develop and empower our women in Africa - our women must enjoy womanhood and become Women with Purpose!"
Included in the FDA Women Development Programme is the urgent promotion of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to ensure understanding and support for this important initiative. Although familiar to some individuals, the majority of our people are unaware of the eight Millennium Development Goals set by the UN (United Nations) in 2000 for implementation by 2015 - they are:
1 To eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Achieving these MDG's will require massive actions from National; Provincial and Local Governments; Development Partners; Civil Society Organisations and the
Private Sector - we all need to contribute.
The Foundation for the Development of Africa is a non-membership, private, not-for-profit organisation, is actively involved with initiating and facilitating business and other processes conducive to sustainable development in Africa - with the emphasis on sustainability. These processes include the promotion of networking opportunities; business opportunities; investment opportunities; promotion of special projects; dissemination of business information; joint venture initiatives and a range of value added services - all to serve Africa!
