The AFRICA TRADE CENTRE AND THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA proudly presents you with the following information that may add value to Africa's development.

RESTRUCTURED - ATC FDA

It has been awhile since I made contact - please accept my apology!

We have been busy with some major restructuring to accommodate the financial turmoil worldwide and to fit in with the interesting developments within the AFRICA TRADE CENTRE.

The following profiles may shed some light on what we are doing and where we are going - it makes for some interesting reading.

1.1 THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA
The Foundation for the Development of Africa is a non-membership, private, non-profit organisation, actively involved with initiating and facilitating business and other processes conducive to Sustainable Development in Africa - with the emphasis on sustainability. These processes include the promotion networking opportunities; business opportunities; investment opportunities; promotion of special projects; dissemination of business information; joint venture initiatives and a range of value added services - all to serve AFRICA!

The Foundation for the Development of Africa has been serving Africa since 1999 and is rated as one of the most proactive Development Organizations serving Africa and has been instrumental in initiating and facilitating a number of development processes and business initiatives throughout Africa.

The primary objective of The Foundation for the Development of Africa is in line with and in response to the NEPAD challenge:

"The African peoples must take up the challenge of mobilizing in support of the implementation of this initiative (NEPAD) by setting up, at all levels, structures for organisation, mobilization and action!" - NEPAD 2001

However, The Foundation for the Development of Africa believes that sustainable development is a process that must start from within and from the bottom-up. The Foundation for the Development of Africa constantly promotes this process.

The Foundation for the Development of Africa's Websites' are 'geared' to facilitate sustainable local economic development (LED) throughout Africa.

"Less Aid - Let's Trade" is a trademark phrase used by The Foundation for the Development of Africa in its facilitation efforts. The proactive approach of this organisation is clearly illustrated in the fact that the various Websites used, by The Foundation for the Development of Africa, to promote business development throughout Africa, are currently ranked on the front page of most international search portals when searching for "business development africa".

A quick test to validate this claim is encouraged - select www.google.com - currently rated as one of the largest 'search portals' in the world - and search for "business development africa" - also try "support africa" or search options like "black business africa"; "made in africa"; "business opportunities africa" ; "investment opportunities africa"; "products services serving africa" !

The following initiatives have formed part of The Foundation for the Development of Africa portfolio - these initiatives are all ranked/rated as number one (or at least on the front page of Google) when searching www.google.com:

1.1.1 UPCOMING EVENTS SERVING AFRICA

....and then:

1.1.13 WOMEN DEVELOPMENT SERVING AFRICA
www.foundation-development-africa.org/women_development/index.htm

This is the most recent addition to The Foundation for the Development of Africa portfolio!

The vision of this FDA Women Development Programme is to create a worldwide network of dynamic women who add value to Africa's development. The Foundation for the Development Africa will facilitate and showcase projects initiated by women for women on this world-ranked website!

It is further envisioned to deliver a fresh brand of enthusiasm that will inspire women to continue with their creative purpose. Dynamic testimonies will be recorded and documented while women driven projects will receive 'Special Project Serving Africa' status and showcased on the FDA website.

Included in the FDA Women Development Programme is the urgent promotion of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to ensure understanding and support for this important initiative. Although familiar to some individuals, the majority of our people are unaware of the eight Millennium Development Goals set by the UN (United Nations) in 2000 for implementation by 2015.

The following projects are incorporated within the Women Development Programme:

WOMEN DRIVEN PROJECTS

WOMEN WITH PURPOSE

BRIDGING THE GAP

.....and ultimately:

1.1.14 THE "I SUPPORT AFRICA" INITIATIVE
www.isupportafrica.com

The I SUPPORT AFRICA campaign promotes support for AFRICA through PPP (Process of Positive Participation) and has been doing so since 2002!

THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA implemented this initiative to motivate ALL the people of Africa to participate in Africa's well being - there is no doubt that we are realizing that Africa will have to take care of herself.

See the list of names of people committed to supporting Africa in her renewal bid:

LIST OF NAMES PROCLAIMING: "YES! I SUPPORT AFRICA"
www.isupportafrica.com/isagen/names/index.htm

All of Africa must take hands and become united in her efforts to implement this important
AFRICAN RENEWAL PROGRAMME!

The I SUPPORT AFRICA campaign promotes and supports an investment climate through positive participation - this will allow for the initiation and implementation of business projects, no matter how insignificant, that would lead to 'job creation' (employment opportunities) that would therefore ultimately stimulate the Africa economy - that would lead to prosperity.

THE FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA provides this 'platform' to allow the "you and I" to participate in this development process and to allow the world to showcase products and/or services that will add value to (Africa's) sustainable development!

How then can the "you and I" participate in Africa's well being?

First......
Add your name to the growing list of names - all proclaiming - "YES - I SUPPORT AFRICA!"

Secondly......
Support trading within Africa - add your company profile to the growing list of FDA TRADING PARTNERS and abide to a number of business principals - most importantly "Good Governance"

Thirdly......
Support our PRODUCTS AND SERVICES SERVING AFRICA initiative - add your product and or service to the growing list of PRODUCTS AND SERVICES SERVING AFRICA and/or PRODUCTS AND SERVICES MADE IN AFRICA!

.....and now - eventually:

THE "I SUPPORT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT" INITIATIVE
www.isupportafrica.com/community_development/index.htm

This initiative, now launched, is intended to serve local communities throughout the continent!

The objective is:

To identify all PRODUCTS AND SERVICES in a given COMMUNITY

To capture these PRODUCTS AND SERVICES on a comprehensive DATABASE

To allow access to these PRODUCTS AND SERVICES via electronic media and other suitable methods

To secure collaboration, in the COMMUNITY, between Local Government; Business; Media; Civil Society; Business Associations; Community Leaders and the Community

To establish and formalize a community driven Co-Operative serving the community

To appoint a Co-Operative Committee to effectively oversee the running of this Co-Operative

To provide the Co-Operative Committee with a comprehensive Operations Manual

To assist the Co-Operative Committee to secure suitable premises' such as Community Centers (Local Government)

To assist the Co-Operative Committee in the appointment of Co-Operative staff

To secure initial funding for the Co-Operative to
Cover initial overheads
Purchase acceptable approved products (Formalize Informal Sector)

To promote the Co-Operative to product producers and service providers with the emphasis on LOCAL producers and LOCAL service providers

To promote the Co-Operative to local retailers and the community

To assist the Co-Operative to identify products that may meet the requirements and quality for EXPORT

To secure markets for these 'export ready' products via the AFRICA TRADE CENTRE

To assist the Co-Operative in the export procedures

The 'PILOT PROJECT' has been 'earmarked' - details will be released soon!

An Africa initiative - solving an African problem!

AFRICA TRADE CENTRE - HOST CENTERS Here investors and businesspeople, wanting to trade with various countries within Africa will now have access to a 'one-stop' video-conferencing trade facility.
